How to use your photo as a Contact Poster for iPhones.

These days everyone knows that your profile picture is the equivalent of your digital handshake. Including a photo on your digital contact card (vCard) is a smart idea for iPhone users in business for several reasons:

  1. Instant Recognition

Your photo creates an immediate connection, helping others associate your name with your face. In fast-paced networking situations, this personal touch ensures you’re remembered.

  2. Showcase Your Personal Brand

A professional photo speaks volumes about your style, confidence, and credibility. It’s your chance to shine and make a polished first impression that aligns with your brand.

  3. Stand Out in a Sea of Contacts

On iPhones, your contact photo appears prominently in Messages, calls, and the Contacts app. A beautiful, well-chosen image ensures your name stands out and leaves a lasting impression.

  4. Add Warmth and Personality

Including your photo adds a human element to your contact card, making interactions feel more personal and approachable. People are more likely to connect when they see the real, confident woman behind the card.

  5. Make Identification Effortless

No one likes confusion when scrolling through contacts or receiving calls. Your photo makes it clear who you are, so they’ll never forget the amazing woman they met at that event.

  6. Be Unforgettable at Networking Events

A digital card with your photo ensures that people remember your face long after the meeting. It’s like leaving behind a piece of your charm wherever you go.

  7. Stay Consistent Across Platforms

Use the same fabulous photo across LinkedIn, email signatures, and your contact card to create a cohesive, professional online presence that leaves no doubt about your expertise and style.

Adding a high-quality photo to your digital contact card isn’t just a small detail—it’s a power move. It shows confidence, builds connections, and ensures you’re unforgettable in every interaction.

How To Add Your Headshot To Your vCard

Adding your headshot to your vCard on an iPhone is simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Open the Contacts App

  • Launch the Contacts app on your iPhone.

  • Alternatively, open the Phone app and navigate to the Contacts tab.

2. Select Your Contact Card

  • Scroll to the top of your contacts list and select your name (it will usually say My Card).

3. Edit Your Contact Card

  • Tap the Edit button in the top-right corner of the screen.

4. Add or Update Your Photo

  • Tap on the Create New or Add Photo or Edit button next to the photo placeholder or existing image at the top of the screen.

  •

  • Choose one of the following options: Camera: Use your iPhone’s camera to take a new photo. Photos: Select a photo from your Photo Library.  If your preferred headshot is not in your camera roll, exit the contacts app and email the file to yourself and download it to your camera roll, then return to the contacts app.

  • Using a professional headshot in a vertical orientation with some space above your head and below your chin will give you the best results. If you use a photo that is in a square orientation it will likely crop in very close on your face. If you only have a square image you can click on the three dots at the bottom and click on Extend Poster and it will add space above your image for you.

5. Position and Resize Your Photo

  • Once you’ve selected a photo, use the pinch and drag gestures to position and resize it to your liking.

  • Tap your name to change the font and the color

  • Swipe left to see special effects applied to the image

  • Tap Done when satisfied.

  • Tap Continue

  • Adjust your Contact Photo (shows up as a circle in their contacts list beside your name)

  • Crop the image as necessary or change it to a photo that is different from what you use for your poster. Tap Choose and Continue.

6. Save Your Changes

  • Scroll down and make any other updates to your contact information if needed.

  • Tap Done in the top-right corner to save your updated contact card.

7. Share Your vCard

  • Turn on Name & Photo Sharing

  • Change Share Automatically to Always Ask

  • To share your vCard with someone, open your contact card, tap Share Contact, and choose the method (e.g., AirDrop, Messages, or Email).

  • Your headshot will now appear along with your contact details when shared.

  • Now when you call them or they call you your headshot will appear on the screen.

This process ensures your contact card looks polished and professional, leaving a great impression when you share it!
