What to Expect At Your Tampa Headshot Session

Getting a new headshot can feel like a big deal, especially if you don’t love being photographed. You might be wondering what to wear, what to do with your face, or whether you’ll actually like the results.
You don’t need to arrive with any of that figured out. That’s what I’m here for.
At Warped Vision Photography, I guide you through the session so you can focus on being present. Here’s what to expect when you visit my Downtown Tampa studio for a full headshot session.
Before Your Session: Let’s Talk About What You Need
A headshot for a company website may need a different feel than one for a speaking engagement, business launch, or personal brand. We’ll talk about where your images will be used and the impression you want to make.
If your company has requirements for the background, clothing, or crop, send those before your appointment. A reference image or company website can help us plan.
Bring a few clothing options for your full session, cleaned and pressed. You don’t have to make the final choice at home. We can look at them together and decide what works best on camera.

When You Arrive: We’ll Get You Settled
We’ll start by going over your goals and looking at the clothing you brought. I want to understand how you normally present yourself and where you want this headshot to take you.
We can compare layers, collars, and colors. Sometimes adding a jacket changes the whole feel. Sometimes the simpler option is the strongest.
This is a conversation. If there’s something you’re unsure about or a past photo experience you didn’t enjoy, tell me. That helps me understand what matters to you.
During the Shoot: You Won’t Be Left Guessing
You don’t need to practice a collection of poses before you arrive. I’ll direct your shoulders, head position, chin, and expression throughout the shoot.
Small adjustments can make a big difference. I might ask you to turn slightly, bring your chin forward, or soften your expression. I’ll explain and demonstrate when needed so you aren’t trying to interpret vague instructions.
And yes, there will probably be a few jokes. Looking professional doesn’t mean the experience has to feel stiff.
We’ll Build a Look That Feels Like You
Confident doesn’t have to mean serious, and approachable doesn’t have to mean a huge smile. We’ll explore expressions that fit you and how you plan to use the photographs.
During a full session, we can also compare clothing options. The goal is to create useful variety while keeping your images recognizably you.
You can tell me what feels right as we go. Your feedback matters just as much as my direction.
After the Shoot: We Choose Your Favorites Together
We’ll review the photographs together at the studio. I’ll help you compare expressions and choose images that suit your goals, so you aren’t left sorting through everything alone afterward.
Your full session fee and image purchases are separate. You choose and purchase your favorite images during the selection process, and we’ll discuss any retouching requests before the final images are prepared.
Selected images receive professional retouching, including details such as temporary blemishes, flyaways, and color refinement. The aim is a polished result that still looks like you. Standard delivery is within 3–4 business days after selection.
What If I Only Need One Updated Headshot?
Headshot Express is a shorter option for a straightforward update. It’s a 15-minute appointment that includes one image. Arrive wearing your preferred outfit so we can make the most of your time.
If you want more room to explore outfits and create a wider selection, choose a full session. You’re welcome to ask which option fits your needs before booking.
Ready for a Headshot You’re Proud to Share?
You bring yourself and a little preparation. I’ll bring the direction, lighting, and attention to detail.
