We all know that photos of you perform best on Instagram. If you want to grow on Instagram, or elevate your professional brand, it's time to make it count!

People want to see YOU, so having a library of headshots is hugely helpful.

Getting ready:

I’ll be the first to admit that modeling doesn’t come naturally to me.

While video comes naturally to me, I can get pretty awkward posing for pictures in front of the camera.

It doesn’t make me nervous to turn on the camera and start talking. Ask me to stand still and pose though? It isn't easy. Of course over time I learned to pose myself and have a good idea of what i'll look like on camera.

Here are the three tips that I recommend doing as a way to plan ahead:

Plan your outfit: Decide what you’re going to wear ahead of time. Don’t wait until the day of, or the night before, to go through your closet to find your outfits. That’s way too stressful! Take the time to try on different outfits and accessories to see what sparks your confidence and excitement! Wear clothing that makes you feel beautiful and confident. Photographers LOVE mood boards by the way!

Hair and makeup: Professional photos are an investment in yourself. If you’re taking the effort to get them done, you might want to splurge for hair and makeup too. Getting your hair and makeup done is going to make you feel beautiful, and your energy is going to shine through these photos! Tapping into your inner self-love and confidence will make your photos much better!

Music: Get yourself amped up before the photo shoot by playing good music. Turn on your favorite dance jams playlist and just start dancing around as you get ready! Dance in the car on your way to the photo shoot! Sing in the shower! Do whatever you can to spark your energy and get excitement coursing through your body. Having fun is a great way to tap into your natural smile!

If you follow these three tips, I guarantee that your photos will end up being a great reflection of you!
